Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 September 2026

Whereabouts helps you remember where you put things. It is made by APEX VISION TECHNOLOGIES L.L.C, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("we"). This policy explains what the app stores, where it goes, and what you control.

The short version: everything you store stays on your phone.

What the app stores on your phone

This data lives in the app's private storage. Android auto-backup to Google Drive is turned off for Whereabouts, and the app does not read your photo library, contacts, location or files.

Permissions

Nothing you store leaves your phone. The app has no account and no server of its own; the only things it sends anywhere are the optional statistics and crash reports below and the purchase record.

Anonymous usage statistics (optional)

With your consent in Settings, the app sends a small number of anonymous events (for example "item stored", "search performed", "paywall shown") to PostHog so we can see which features are used. These events never include what you store: no item names, places, photos, transcripts or text you type. They are tied to the random device id, not to you. You can turn this off at any time in Settings › Privacy; in builds without an analytics key nothing is sent.

Crash reports

If crash reporting is enabled in a build, a crash sends a stack trace and device model to Sentry so the bug can be fixed. Crash reports do not include your items or photos.

Purchases

Whereabouts Pro is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed by RevenueCat. We receive an anonymous purchase record and entitlement status; we never see your payment details.

Data retention and deletion

Children

Whereabouts is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
