Schoolbag is not in my share menu

• On Android the share sheet sometimes shows only recent apps first: tap More or scroll the app row to find Schoolbag.
• Schoolbag accepts text, images and PDFs. Some apps share a link instead of the text; long-press the message and copy it, then use + › Paste a notice in Schoolbag.

It found the wrong date, or no date

• Nothing is on the calendar until you confirm it. In Review, tap Edit on the card to change the date, time, type or child.
• "Next Thursday" and numeric dates like 12/10 can be read two ways; those cards carry a marker so you can settle them. Set your date order (day-first or month-first) and school week in Settings › Dates.
• "Before the break" needs the school's breaks: Children › Schools › edit › Holidays and breaks.
• For notices the built-in rules struggle with (rescheduled dates, long newsletters, photos of letters), add your own AI key under Settings › Smart reading.

It put the event under the wrong child

Events are matched from the class and school words in the notice ("Year 4B", "Grade 2 Blue"). Check each child's class in Children, and use the chips on the Review card to reassign in one tap.

A photo or PDF came out as gibberish

• Text recognition runs on your phone and needs a reasonably sharp, well-lit photo. Retake it flat, without shadows, and share again.
• A PDF that is a scan (an image inside a PDF) is read the same way as a photo; a PDF with real text is read directly.

Reminders did not arrive

• Allow notifications for Schoolbag in your phone's settings, and turn off battery optimisation for it if your phone is aggressive about background apps.
• Default reminder times are in Settings › Reminders; each event can have its own from its detail screen.

Smart reading says my key was rejected

• Copy the whole key from console.anthropic.com; it starts with sk-ant-.
• "No credit" means the Anthropic account needs a payment method or credit added. Schoolbag never charges you; Anthropic bills your usage directly.
• Change the model under Settings › Smart reading › Model if one is unavailable to your account.

Free plan limits

Free covers one child and 20 notices a month. Everything already extracted keeps working: Today, reminders and the calendar are never locked. Schoolbag Pro removes the limits and adds calendar export, the fee summary and the term recap.

Moving to a new phone

There is no account, so data does not move by itself. Use Settings › Your data › Export everything as JSON on the old phone and keep the file; an import option is planned. Pro purchases can be restored on the new phone from the paywall with Restore purchases.

Cancel Pro or get a refund

Subscriptions are managed in your Google Play or App Store account, not in the app. Refunds are handled by Google or Apple under their policies.

Delete everything

Settings › Your data › Delete all data removes every child, notice and event from the phone. Uninstalling the app does the same. Nothing is held anywhere else.
