Dues is a bill and subscription reminder made by APEX VISION TECHNOLOGIES L.L.C, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("we"). It is built so that your financial information stays on your phone.
What Dues stores, and where
- Your bills, payments, income and settings are stored in a local database on your device. They are included in your phone's normal device backup (iCloud or Google) and in any backup file you export yourself. Dues has no server and no account system in this version; nothing is uploaded.
- Your account balance, if you choose to enter it, is a number you type in. It is stored with the rest of your settings on the device and is never transmitted.
- App-lock passcode. If you turn on the app lock, a salted hash of your passcode is kept in the device's secure keychain (iOS Keychain or Android Keystore). It is not stored in the database, not included in backups, and cannot be recovered by us. Biometric unlock uses the operating system's own prompt; Dues never receives biometric data.
- Bank and biller messages (Android, Pro only, opt-in). If you turn on Mark paid automatically, Dues reads payment confirmations from the banks and billers you see listed in the app, on your device, to mark the matching bill paid. The messages are parsed locally and are not stored beyond the amount, merchant name, last four digits of the card and date needed to match a bill. They are never transmitted anywhere. You can turn this off at any time in Me → Mark paid automatically, and you can revoke notification access in Android settings.
- iPhone. Apple does not let apps read SMS or notifications from other apps. On iPhone you may paste a message into Dues; it is processed on the device in the same way and not uploaded.
What leaves your phone
- Product analytics (PostHog, EU servers). Anonymous usage events such as "bill added", "reminder fired", "paywall viewed". These contain no bill names, amounts, balances, account numbers, names or email addresses. A random device identifier is used; it is not linked to you.
- Crash reports (Sentry). If the app crashes, a report with the error and the screen name is sent. Fields that could contain amounts, account references, names, phone numbers or notes are removed before sending.
- Subscriptions (RevenueCat, Apple, Google). If you buy Dues Pro, the purchase is handled by the App Store or Google Play and validated by RevenueCat. Dues receives only whether the subscription is active and when it renews.
Dues does not use advertising SDKs and does not sell or share data with third parties for marketing.
Permissions
- Notifications — to remind you before a bill is due.
- Notification access (Android, optional) — to read confirmations from bank apps, on-device.
- Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint (optional) — to unlock the app. Handled entirely by the operating system.
Your choices
- Export a backup of all your data at any time (Me → Back up to file) — it is a plain JSON file you own.
- Delete everything by uninstalling the app; the local database and the app-lock passcode are removed with it.
- Contact hello@apexvisionerp.com with any question about your data.
Children
Dues is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
